Introduction to Legacy of the Sun

Legacy of the Sun was originally an adventuring band under the direction of the elven Ranger -Captain named Feylan Sunmane. During the Third War, the band was splintered and Feylan left with Kael'thas, leaving directions for his friends to follow him to Outland when they were able. Since then, the original band has grown to include the other races of the Horde, all hoping to venture together into Outland. The band, now more of an organization, is seeking to add new faces and ideas to it's growing numbers. Only time will tell what this world - and Outland - holds for Legacy of the Sun!

Located on the World of Warcraft realm US-Ravenholdt(RP-PvP), Legacy of the Sun is a heavy roleplaying guild with a flair for PvE and PvP. Out of character, the guild is lead by the Storyteller's Council. The story of Feylan will develop as players progress through the game as their lost leader in Outland occasionally makes contact with the group. For further interaction and event planning, the guild will have several different structured Theatres. These Theatres are not strict distinctions between members but are designed to encourage members to get involved in the guild and events. As the membership grows, so too will the depth of the Theatres available. Examples of Theatres are the Theatre of Song, dedicated to music and art; the Theatre of Deceit, dedicated to espionage and infiltration; the Theatre of Light, which will run religious services of various types; and the Threate of Blood, dedicated to the understanding, use, and control of magic, both arcane and fel, along with the addiction to it that many elves face. For more information on Theatres, please read the Theatres section of the website located on the menu to the left.

The guild's eventual goals include exploring all that the Burning Crusade has to offer through instances and raids, while still maintaining a heavy focus on roleplaying and plot-driven development. Our leadership has extensive experience in many end game instances but also enjoys quite a bit of PvP, so members can expect that, too! The leadership plans to maintain a medium-sized active guild population, so that guild members can always find someone to roleplay, instance or PvP with.

The Guild's Hierarchy

When a new member is accepted into the Legacy of the Sun, they become an Understudy for two weeks. During this trial period, the member must remain an active and contributing member of the guild. If they are found to be a good fit for the guild, at the end of this two week period, that member will be promoted to the rank of Actor. Understudies are encouraged to seek out Theatres they may have interest in during their trial period, but they are not required to make any decisions relating to Theatres until after they are members. The Actor is the basic member of the guild. Actors are able to join any Theatre they wish, and may be members of as many Theatres as they wish.

Theatres are each lead by a different member of the guild out of character, though a Theatre may not have an in character leader within the guild. Some Theatres do not yet have leaders or titles associated with them; as the Legacy grows, members will submit new Theatres and adopt current Theatres in need of leaders.

Many Storytellers are also leaders of Theatres, though this is not necessarily the case. Storytellers are the out of character officers within the guild and make all the decisions, from accepting an application to the color scheme of the website. Many of them also make up Feylan's old adventuring companions, and as such, effectively lead the Legacy in his absence, both in character and out of character. Of course, the Storytellers strive to involve members as often as possible in the affairs of the guild - and if you want to help, be sure to volunteer!

The Rules of Legacy of the Sun

Legacy of the Sun members live by very simple codes of conduct.

1. Respect each other: This is a family of players, not a bunch of random players you met on the internet. Form friendships, talk to each other, instance together and go exploring. Build the relationship IC, but also OOC as well. Theres to be no flaming, no discrimination, no rumor-mongering and especially, no fat-jokes.

2. Understand the environment: Ravenholdt is an RP-PVP server. You are expected to acknowledge role-playing rules. This extends to the naming of characters. It also applies to character archetypes. No queens, kings, magical faeries and half-dragons please.

3. Be open: Don't fall into the trap of role-playing with guild-members only. Know that there are many other role-players from many other guilds that are out in the world. Cloistering your RP will ultimately damage the server. Spread out the love.

4. Stay relaxed: Conflicts are damaging, but they're also good cleansers. Try and keep OOC conflicts OOC and vice versa. If it can't be done, talk it out. Don't make a forum post, talk it out in game, over a Ventrilo server; do it real time. If someone starts a fight with you, don't reciprocate. Leave griefers be. Contact an officer, they'll be more than glad to help put a stop to the trouble.

5. Participation: Attempt to involve yourself in the guild anyway that you can. No one's going to remove you from the guild for inactivity, but you'll find yourself very bored if you don't give back to us what we give to you.

And if you have any questions about any decisions or any ideas, don't be afraid to contact an officer in game.
